Project Planning is a program that keeps track of employees tasks and working time. It helps to administrate employees activities and working hours efficiently accordingly to a project. The output report can be customized and can be exported as a bitmap image.
The interface is simple and easy to use; it even offers tips to learn what every box or entry requires. After testing Project Planning it must be said that it’s far from being a planner. Basically it is just a scheduler where users can manage the time employees assigned to a particular project along with their tasks.
The program requires too many manual entries, it doesn’t acquire holidays automatically, and doesn’t offer any detailed information about a project or a task. The output report just displays hours per date and the total sum. Project Planning also lacks project portfolio management, sharing system, and issue tracking system.
There are plenty of project planning software options that users should consider since this one isn’t free and lacks basic things you would require for planning. Some better software alternatives could be: ToDoList, Openworkbench, OpenProj, Plandora, Project.net, GanttProject or Xplanner which all are open source programs.
